Hierarchy is a re-design for the mono-thematic research essay 'Mining the Mind' by Jan Padios. The intention of this publication is to make the scientific publication approachable to everyday people.

One of the strongest themes I noticed while reading the text is that, despite the benefits and advancements made by examining human emotions, it can often be a very one sided (rich, white, male), and can actually be detrimental to the lives of minorities (People of colour, and special needs individuals in particular).
This publication has been designed to be a visual protest:
- Black and white images to highlight the seriousness of the issue.
- Red, 'vandalism' style elements to draw attention to important themes and messages.
The Publication
The 68 page publication explores themes of emotional extraction and its often controversial uses, and is represented as a visual protest to the negative and opressive consequences it has on minorities.
